Ingredients
  

  • 6 medium apples peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice and half of the cinnamon.
  • Spread apples evenly in the prepared dish.
  • In another bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, oats, remaining cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Pour in melted butter and stir until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle topping evenly over apples.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Cool slightly before serving — best with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for the best flavor (like Granny Smith and Honeycrisp). Add chopped nuts for extra crunch!
